Oh sweet, looks like I can pre-order this is england 86 on amazon for oct 11!!!
Yeah it very well could be rubbish, but I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best. I know it's completely different set, setting, context and all of that, but most of my friends were punks/skins when i was a teen.

That's how I feel about Geordie/Mackem. For the love of god that might as well be another language. I used to work with a dude from Sunderland. Very cool guy but a massive challenge to understand.

Good on ya Redonk, that's pretty impressive.
I can speak Japanese, although I sound like a brain damaged 5 year old with a penchant for profanity when I do it. I can read it better than speak it, which was the opposite of most of my expat mates when I lived there. I took some classes in school and lived in Fukuoka after I finished school......Honestly, living in the country accelerates your learning so much more than doing it in the classroom. You do have to be willing to make a fool of yourself and maybe have people giggle at you when you make mistakes. Usually people are generally extremely appreciative that you are making the effort. Except in the US and UK, where people act like all the world should be native fluent.
I can generally read Spanish pretty well, although I can't understand a word said to me when spoken, it's just way too rapid-fire for me. I've been trying to learn German for a laugh, but the article der die das and genitive accusative dative malarkey can be a headache.
It's crazy how similar Dutch and German are though. Through the German I know, I've been able to passably figure out quite a bit of written Dutch. Pretty neat.

Sorry, this ain't getting much of a reaction out of me.
It's not like she chucked the kitty in a wood chipper, or tossed a puppy off a bridge, is it?
