By building a gun and shooting it in the face.

Sure, if you can build it out of materials that you found in the woods.

Not sure how good that gun would be when it's only made out of wood, mud and grass...

Erm, at what point did you say we could only hunt using mud and grass? Elephants grew so big that they couldn't be hunted by the majority of animals, tigers grew teeth, muscle and claws, impalas developed speed, good sense of smell and hearing. Humans, grew brains, to build tools, from elements provided by NATURE. A gun is a natural thing, the metal came out of the ground, the wood from the trees, there isn't a single unnatural part of it. We're at the top of the food chain, get over it and eat your meat like a good little human.

Actually, I DO eat meat. I'm an animal rights activist, not a vegan or vegetarian. I do buy free range meat and meat from humanely raised and slaughtered animals whenever possible.

I should have specified in my original post that the humans would be able to use anything naturally occurring as is (like a big rock)...or natural items that they could convert into something else (like fashioning a sapling, animal fat and vines into a working bow...or branches and sharpened rock points into arrows). That was my intention in the original post although I neglected to specify it.

You're right - the parts of the gun are all natural, but man made processes are needed to turn those raw materials into the finished, usable product of a firearm.

Out of interest, how is an animal "humanely slaughtered" ?

Well, for example, poultry, fish and rabbits are all currently excluded from the provisions of the HMSLA, the Humane Slaughter Act. The HMSLA only covers cattle, sheep and pigs. I think it should encompass all animals slaughtered for food.

Animals should be stunned into unconsciousness prior to their slaughter to ensure a quick, relatively painless death. The most common methods are electrocution and C02 stunning for swine and captive bolt stunning for cattle, sheep, and goats.

Unfortunately, due to the greedy capitalist pig behavior by many owners and managers of meat-packing plants, the speed of the kill lines are routinely increased to speeds at which workers cannot adequately protect themselves or ensure the livestock is correctly stunned before slaughter. This obviously detriments our health, considering we eat what they're processing. Failure to properly disembowal a cow leads to shit and stomach contents spilling all over the meat that will eventually be eaten (read "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser for more details...or read "Slaughterhouse" by Gail Eisnitz).

I only support CO2 stunning for swine and I prefer not to purchase meat from pigs from plants that use electrocution, which I boycott (Smithfield Foods, for example, uses electrocution).

Also, by buying from smaller, family-owned farms that sell free range meats and are certified as humane farms, I ensure I purchase my meats from farms that humanely raise, feed and care for their animals.

I eat very little poultry and I eat NO fish, rabbit, foie gras (force-feeding - a truly despicable practice against geese that should be banned internationally) or veal. I use nothing from seals, whales, nothing with fur and I own NO leather (all of my supposed "leather" goods are imitation, even my shoes).

Basically, I do what I can to ensure I'm not part of the problem, barring my inability to cease eating animal flesh...

So if a hunter goes for a quick death ie. heart or head shot. Is this humane? It's not stunned before but it's a pretty quick death. And the animal is wild so has had a pretty happy existence up until it's death.

then why does it say "no drink in or outside of the CLUB" & "members only"? bars allow drinks and don't require membership...

How silly of me. I thought the name BAR a BAR was an indication that it was a bar.

Certainly a great lyricist but a lot of his tunes are a bit dull and lifeless in my opinion.

I think its more his voice I don't like, he doesn't sound in tune to me. He sounds bored most of the time. Just annoys me really, mostly because he's supposed to be a "legend".

My sentiment's exactly. Not sure this would take off in other places.
