I recall hearing someone - Heretic - I think banging on about it this a few weeks ago, but took no notice.

However, just heard about it on the radio and is it any surprise they are being put on trial as spies? Hiking on the Northern Iraq boarder with Iran? Who on earth is going to do that, especially US citizens? I mean seriously? Its hardly a tourist hotspot is it?

Blatantly CIA.

Do you think they were fully experienced rambling hikers? Very Happy

And what about the owls?

And tonight something equally epoch-making is taking place. See? They're applauding the DJ. Not the music, not the musician, not the creator, but the medium. This is it. The birth of rave culture. The beatification of the beat. The dance age. This is the moment when even the white man starts dancing. Welcome to Manchester. - Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson in 24Hr Party People

You have to remember that the English are better than everybody else. And even if it's not actually true, we all still believe it, so we ain't changing for nobody.

CIA? They just seem stupid to me. The area is known for hiking and is close enough to Turkey to make it quite popular. Purely politics imo

Yeah, lots of on-foot spying to be done in rural Iran since they can't take pictures from drones or from space! This is just par for the course for Iran.

I'm sure they looked like this...

It's not like there are any other good hiking spots in America or the rest of the world besides the trails along the border of Iraq and Iran. It kind of reminds me of the 80's movie Spies Like Us.

Has 4four considered taking its incisive analysis to the authorities?

"Blatantly" CIA, says Louthy. "NSA perhaps" says Heretic.

Do these opinions arise from both your many years of working in espionage?
